■ 25 kW (30 horsepower) compact size, no exhaust emissions, suitable for barns and greenhouse farming
■ Achieves same performance as diesel tractor, with approximately 60% reduction in maintenance costs
■ President of LS Mtron Shin Chai-ho: "We will seize the small electric tractor market, which is at the center of the tractor electrification paradigm."

LS Group's industrial machinery and advanced components specialist, LS Mtron (CEO Shin Chai-ho), announced on the 17th that it will unveil the concept model of its electric tractor, the EON3, for the first time at the Korea International Exhibition of Machinery, Equipment, Science and Technology for Agriculture (KIEMSTA 2024), which will be held at EXCO in Daegu from October 30 to November 2.

The LS Mtron electric tractor concept model EON3 is a 25 kW (30 horsepower) compact model that is ideal for small spaces. Because it does not produce exhaust, the EON3 is an environmentally friendly product that can be used in barns and greenhouses. Compared to diesel tractors, it produces less vibration and noise, reducing driver stress. It delivers the same performance as a diesel tractor of the same class and eliminates the need for fuel refills and engine oil changes, reducing maintenance costs by about 60%.

The EON3 can be charged from 10% to 80% SOC  in roughly 40 minutes thanks to its fast charging capability. It can work as a loader for up to six hours when fully charged. Another benefit is the V2L (vehicle to load) feature, which offers the ability to charge and run power tools using the tractor's battery power.

The electric tractor market is expanding rapidly in line with the global trend toward environmentally friendly farming. The global market for electric tractors is projected to reach approximately $300 million in 2023, with a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of more than 13% between 2024 and 2032.

LS Mtron has been developing commercialization technology for small electric tractors as a national strategic project since 2022. In August, for the first time in the domestic agricultural machinery industry, the company conducted a performance verification test for electric tractors under the supervision of the Korea Agricultural Technology Promotion Agency, confirming the achievement of the target performance. At KIEMSTA 2024, which will open in two weeks, LS Mtron will unveil its electric tractor concept model to the public for the first time, suggesting the direction for tractor development. There will be an experience corner at the exhibition booth where visitors can test drive electric tractors.

Shin Chai-ho, CEO of LS Mtron, said, "We will improve the currently developed electrification platform to take the lead in the small electric tractor market, which is at the center of the tractor electrification paradigm. In the future, we plan to set a specific commercialization timeline in line with the government's subsidy policies."
